Forward thinking: Summiting with Sustainability 17 November in Oslo

On 17 November we put design and sustainability on the agenda. The future is about taking more responsibility – using both head and heart to make business decisions. At this seminar you will be inspired by some of the world’s top forward thinkers who know how to turn ideology into responsible and profitable business.
Setting the bar high and working long term is essential to reach the top. Using design is important in a holistic perspective to come up with better solutions that make businesses, the environment and people prosper.

The seminar kicks off with Rick Ridgeway, VP Environmental Affairs, from Patagonia as great inspiration – and continues with a diversity of brands and speakers on the wonderful role and possibilities design and product development can play in sustainability. We are launching the “Oslo Manifesto”: the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals as The ultimate Design Brief in cooperation with Alan Atkisson, emphasizing that design can be powerful tool in helping the world become a better place with peace and prosperity for all.

To earn the reputation as role model

No other country in the world can top Norway’s sales on sports equipment and clothing per capita. Norwegian consumers are becoming more and more aware of the environmental challenges and fair trade. Norwegian brands have substantial market shares both in Norway and abroad, and many startups are following. One thing they all have in common is the desire to create great nature and outdoor experiences. There are many reasons why the Norwegian industry can be a role model for sustainability, but this position is only earned through continuous hard work.

On 17th of November we welcome the design, sports and outdoor industry to join forces and find solutions to future challenges for business, society and the environment. Everyone else with an interest in design, sustainability and innovation are of course welcome too!

The seminar will be held in English, and the program will be updated leading up to the event.
