Sigourney Weaver plays Diane Fossey, a wonderful, incredible woman who fought by herself for the gorillas in Central Africa. It was a film that affected me very deeply. I couldn’t keep back my tears for half an hour. After the film, I wasn’t able to speak for hours. I attended a party and felt like such an outsider. I couldn’t understand how people could possibly have so much fun, while this cruelty to animals was happening right then on our exact same planet. Gorillas in the Mist was an eye-opener, and it still is in my memory the hardest experience I have had viewing a film.
